Summertime Fun with the Goulbourn Museum!

We’re excited to announce the rollout of our summer programming for the Summer of 2022! We have a variety of programs for youth of all ages!

Summer Seekers 2022

Summer Seekers is a program that was developed during Covid-19 as a way to inspire kids to get outside and connect with others. After listening closely to your feedback, we are excited to announce that this year we are launching SUMMER SEEKERS both virtually and in-person!

This exciting program will encourage kids to explore while teaching them about how people in Goulbourn lived and played throughout history! Every module has a themed set of activities, including games, crafts, recipes and more! As you complete the activities, you’ll learn new skills, collect badges, and have the chance to win prizes!

In the first module, SHOWTIME, you can learn all about the ways that children in Goulbourn Township used to play together through theatre and other games!

To get started click the image above or this link here!

Or! You can participate by going to our website, and selecting “Virtual Programming” from the “Museum at Home” drop down menu at the top, then select the Summer Seekers 2022 program from the list!

Canada Day Take-Home Kits

Did you know that Canadians invented many of the games, products and foods that we use every day? Without these great Canadians, we wouldn’t have things like basketball, insulin, or peanut butter!

Back by popular demand, in time for Canada Day, the Goulbourn Museum has prepared a fun take-home kit that features materials to make your own delicious bannock, a thaumatrope, and a ring and pin game! You can also test your knowledge of Canadian inventions with our trivia game and test your searching skills with our online scavenger hunt!

Kits will be available to purchase by donation from the museum’s online gift shop (link below). Only 30 kits will be made, so be sure to act fast! Kits will be available for curbside pickup at the Goulbourn Museum starting Tuesday June 21st from 10am to 3pm each day. Don’t forget to bring a copy of your receipt when you come to pick up your kit!

For more information or if you have any questions, send an email to: info@goulbournmusuem.ca
