Permanent Exhibits
SCORCHED
Our newest exhibit SCORCHED tells the story of the Great Fire of 1870- a cataclysmic event that would forever change Goulbourn Township. Learn about this life changing disaster through never before told stories, facts, and vignettes which tell individual tales from the conflagration.
The Village General Store
The Village General Store is an interactive, hands on exhibit which brings history to life! Fill a basket, don a costume and travel back in time to the early 1900’s in our recreation of a turn of the century village store!
All the Woods & Waters
All the Woods & Waters summarizes the settlement of Goulbourn by the soldiers of the 100th Regiment of Foot. See the objects, now artefacts, they were given to farm their land, build a house and start their new lives in Canada; read an original land deed and explore a large copy of Belden’s Map of Goulbourn modified with current streets and names; and, stand in the shoes of these soldier settlers, face pioneering challenges and leave your mark on the map!
Temporary Exhibits
Hazeldean Gardens
In collaboration with our community partner Hazeldean Gardens Retirement Residence, the Museum has set up a rotating seasonal display inside the retirement facility. This mobile exhibition highlights some of our favorite artefacts from our What’s it Wednesday social media campaign, and brings the museum experience directly out into the community.
Seasonal Exhibits
Poppies of Goulbourn
In 2018, the Goulbourn Museum launched the inaugural Poppies of Goulbourn exhibition, which saw local volunteers and Museum staff drape a portion of the Museum in handmade poppies in honour of Remembrance Day.
The exhibit was so well received, it has become an annual staple of the institution.
