Meet the Artisan: Monkey Mud Pottery

Monkey Mud Pottery sells one of a kind fully handmade pottery pieces ranging from simple bowls and cups to intricate pieces of art and jewelry with a variety of price ranges. Each piece is made to be unique, and no two pieces are ever alike. Utilitarian pieces can be put in the dishwasher, microwave and oven. Pieces of Art incorporate glass, granite, metals and naturally found objects. “There is a story behind every piece, it can be mine, it can be yours, or it can create itself,” says Megg, the artist behind the creations.

For Megg, the best feeling in the world is having her hands covered in wet clay and being exhausted and inspired from hours in the studio. She dreams in shapes and colours and enjoys travelling the world looking for new ideas for her clay pieces. She sees pots in architecture, nature, animals, people and feelings and translates these to her pieces for others to enjoy. Monkey Mud Pottery is the result of a lifetime of learning, experimenting and creating. Megg finds serenity and joy in creating her pieces and wants to share these feelings with others.

You can buy your very own piece of art from Monkey Mud Pottery this Sunday at the Museum’s Outdoor Artisan Market.
