Meet Our Museum Assistant Sarah Allan

Museum Assistant Sarah Allan

Sarah Allan is one of two students hired for the summer. As Museum Assistant her duties include everything from programming and marketing to grounds maintenance! Hers will be the friendly face you see when you visit the Museum or accompany your kids to one of our Family Craft Days.

“This is my first summer working at the Goulbourn Museum, and I am extremely excited about the opportunity. I grew up in Richmond so I can’t wait to learn about the history that makes the Goulbourn Township so unique!

I have always had a great interest in history, archaeology, and palaeontology (I still want a pet dinosaur) which has only been furthered by the chance to work at the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation, the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, and now the Goulbourn Museum. I have recently graduated from Queen’s University with an honours degree in History, and I am excited that after three summers in Kingston, I’ll be able to, again, enjoy the hot summers of my hometown.

Though I am still trying to decide what to do when I grow up, I am so grateful to be currently working with such a welcoming staff, that endeavour to preserve the history and stories of everyday people in our community.

I look forward to seeing you this summer!”
