Hi there! I’m Jenna Connolly and I’m currently in my final year of the Applied Museum Studies program at Algonquin College.

I grew up in Ottawa’s west-end before my family moved to the Goulbourn area about 10 years ago. I’ve spent the last few years working in the front end of a small-town grocery store where I was able to fall in love with the area and build meaningful connections with the locals. That small town retail job was able to support my transition from graduating high school to now graduating college, and I’ll always be grateful for that experience.

With that said, I’ve driven past the Goulbourn Museum nearly every day for the last decade and I’m very excited to finally be a part of the team. As the Collections Management Assistant, I’m looking forward to developing my passion for preserving history and improving my skills as a museum professional.

**The Museum’s career development and mentorship programs help young adults gain job training, hands-on experience, and professional growth in specific vocational areas. As the Collections Management Assistant, Jenna will assist the Registrar with managing collections, research, and visitor services. During her internship, she will develop skills in accessioning, deaccessioning, collections documentation, inventory, donor interviews, using the collections management system (CMS), document transcription, research, and imaging artifacts and archival materials.**
