2022 Speaker Series; “Cultivating Citizenship: The History of School Gardens in Ontario.”

August 25 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Goulbourn Museum invites you to join us on Thursday August 25th, 2022, at 7:00 pm for the third instalment of our 2022 Speaker Series, “Cultivating Citizenship: The History of School Gardens in Ontario.”

In the spirit of the back-to-school season, we have invited the Goulbourn Museum’s Program Coordinator Miriam Tepper to speak about school gardens at the turn of the 20th century, including in the former Goulbourn Township, and the lessons and values that they taught rural children. She will also talk about the recent resurgence of this practice in classrooms across Ontario. Finally, she’ll look at the development of the Growing Goulbourn program and the future of the project.
